CFO / Finance Director | Family Office

The family office is a first-generation entrepreneurial family office based in central London

The purpose of the family office is to facilitate the growth of promising businesses and technologies and to significantly grow assets for reinvestment for the benefit of this and future generations.

As well as investing in public markets around the world and managing its own businesses in the UK, in recent years it has been expanding its activities creating a capacity to invest in founder-led UK growth businesses.

A new Finance Director is sought to join the family board and Investment Committee and to play a lead role in the financial management of the enterprise

 Role Overview

The Finance Director will have overall responsibility for the financial management, reporting, control and investment-related finance activities of the business with its diversified portfolio of public and private market investments.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical finance credentials with genuine investment understanding.

Essential

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Significant post-qualification experience, ideally within a family office, investment office, private equity environment, investment manager, fund or similarly sophisticated investment organisation.
• Strong understanding of investment accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience across both public and private investments.
• Strong understanding of private equity/fund structures, capital calls, distributions and NAV reporting.
• Cash-flow and liquidity management capabilities.
• Strong technical accounting and financial control skills.
• Knowledge of UK and international tax considerations affecting investment structures.
• Experience managing external advisers and professional service providers.
• Well developed analytical and Excel/modelling skills.
• High level of integrity, discretion and confidentiality.
